On International Workers’ Day of 2026 we announced that we were submitting our application to become a Community Interest Company.
Formerly a side project of IT Norwich Ltd, we’re now delighted to confirm that The Ethical Computing Project CIC was officially registered in England and Wales on 12th May 2026.
We deliberately chose that day to make the announcement because the values that day represents – fairness, community, and the belief that systems should work for people rather than exploit them – are exactly the values that sit at the heart of what we’re building here.
As a CIC, we’re formally committed to operating in the community interest. That means everything we do, the organisations we work with, the technologies we advocate for and the decisions we make are guided by people rather than profit.
